This dog came in on 04-04-09 STARVED to death. You could see every bone in his body. He weighed 35lbs
when he came in. She claims her babysitter was the one who was suppose to be feeding the dog, and honestly, she never paid attention to him because she has five kids, and the dogs just stay in the woods. The babysitter
claimed that, "this just happened overnight." I told her that these situations don't just happen over night. We took the dog in and found out he had hookworms and whipworms. We treated him for that. We then
tested him for heartworms, and he had those. He also had ringworm. As of this week, he is clear of any fecal worms, his ringworm is pretty much cleared up, and the one part of his heartworm treatment was done this past
week. He now weighs around 52lbs!! If anyone is interested in taking this dog into their home, he would make a wonderful pet! He is VERY people-friendly, but he does not like other dogs (probably because
the only ones he has ever been around were in his same situation and probably had to be aggressive to get food). He is not an aggressive dog, and would be GREAT in a single-pet family. This dog, who goes by
"Cotton" now, deserves a nice, loving home! |

The above letter was written by one of Cotton's Angels. Letting us get to know this wonderful dog a little bit more. You see, had it not been for her being willing
to take on this huge task both financially and timely, Cotton wouldn't have lasted much longer. Can you imagine being left to starve for so long that not just your ribs, but every bone is visible through your skin? The
thought of those hunger pains in your stomach, the weakness you begin to feel. How awful those feelings must be,and you're not able to do anything about it. Top it off with parasite problems on all levels, and you're
losing even more of what little food you are getting, bc the worms are taking it all. This angel did her part, is it to much to ask to maybe help her by helping to cover the cost of Cotton's treatment?
It's not fair to ask her to do it all, is it? Yet, it's not fair for Cotton to not have that chance at life he deserves so much, is it? I know times are tough for alot of people, but let's think about it
this way. If someone would be willing to give up a cup of coffee one day , or a soda for a day, and put that one days worth of $ for Cotton instead. It would all add up. You don't have to be a millionaire to help. A
dollar would be much appreciated. Let's see if we can help take the burden off of Cotton's angels some, let's help raise money for his treatment. As of right now, the treatments have already costed $500,
and it's not over yet. Thank you everyone in advance for being willing to help this dog in need. His face says it all! |
